Purpose:

The purpose of the NGWS Grant Program is to enhance public safety in California by implementing alert and warning solutions that deliver timely emergency information to the public and help protect critical infrastructure. This effort supports a reliable, resilient, and consistent capability for local, state, territorial, tribal, and federal public safety officials to effectively communicate public warnings and emergency information.

The Program will identify capability gaps and implement solutions for alert and warning.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a California-incorporated city, county, special district, or a California federally recognized tribe and must be registered as an Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Alerting Authority.
