Purpose:

The purpose of this program is to enter into grant agreement(s) for grantee(s) to fund increased numbers of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) training in California.

 

Description:

This grant opportunity will result in grant agreement(s) with educational and/or medical institutions to develop and expand psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) programs that train and prepare PMHNPs, including those that serve children and youth. These activities would include the capacity to:

1. Work on multidisciplinary teams
2. Work with underserved communities
3. Reflect PECE guiding principles in coursework and field placements
4. Competitive proposals must demonstrate a commitment to the PECE guiding principles.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Public Agency

Educational and/or medical institutions that will be able to develop and expand psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) programs that train and prepare PMHNPs, including those that serve children and youth.

Eligible Geographies:

Programs must be located in the state of California.
