Purpose:

The County Medical Services Program (CMSP) Loan Repayment Program assists with the repayment of qualified educational loans for primary care healthcare professionals who provide healthcare services at an approved site located in the 35 CMSP counties.

Description:

The County Medical Services Program Loan Repayment Program (CMSP LRP) awards successful applicants $50,000 for a two-year, full-time commitment and $25,000 for a two-year, half-time commitment.  Applicants must work in a CMSP qualified site located in one of the 35 CMSP counties.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Individual

Possess a valid and unrestricted license to practice your profession in California Have no existing service commitment or obligation to another entity Be current on all child support payments Have unpaid educational loans Be employed at an eligible site  Commit to providing a two-year full-time (40 hrs/week) or a two-year half-time (20 hrs/week) service obligation

Eligible Geographies:

Applicants must work in a CMSP approved practice site in one of the 35 CMSP counties: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Imperial, Inyo, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Modoc, Mono, Napa, Nevada, Plumas, San Benito, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.
