Purpose:

The purpose is to provide cost share funding to applicants that apply for and receive one of the following: 

An award under an eligible federal Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) and meet the requirements of this solicitation, or  Follow-on funding from the U.S. DOE to continue research from a previously awarded federal grant that also received from the CEC federal cost share funding under PON-14-308, GFO-18-902, or this GFO.

Description:

The focus of applicant projects will vary based on the specific federal funding opportunity. Please check the Section II.A., for a list of currently eligible funding opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Individual
  • Public Agency

This solicitation is open to all public and private entities with the exception of local publicly owned electric utilities.[1]  In accordance with CPUC Decision 12-05-037, funds administered by the CEC may not be used for any purposes associated with local publicly owned electric utility activities.

[1] A local publicly owned electric utility is an entity as defined in California Public Utilities Code section 224.3.

Eligible Geographies:

Projects must be located in California, either partially or in full. Projects involving demonstrations in real-world environments must have the demonstration sites located in a territory served by PG&E, SCE, or SDG&E.

Important Dates
