Purpose:

It is intended to expand access to jail and prison diversion programs and services; create or expand mental health treatment facilities, substance use disorder treatment facilities, and trauma-centered service facilities in local communities; and reduce the need of mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, and trauma-centered services in the jails and prisons.

Description:

Chapter 33, Statutes of 2016 (SB 843), Section 52, established the Community Services Infrastructure Grant Program (CSI) and is intended to improve access to jail diversion programs. SB 843 provides a mechanism for funding a statewide expansion of mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, and trauma-centered services via grants available to counties.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS Counties and counties applying jointly are eligible for the CSI Grant Program.

PROGRAM FUNDING There is $ 6,147,073.76 available in capital funding for the fourth funding round.
