Purpose:

The purpose of the Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship Program (ADNSP) is to increase the number of appropriately trained Registered Nurses (RNs) providing direct patient care in a qualified facility or area in California.

Description:

The Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship Program (ADNSP) makes awards to eligible applicants currently accepted or enrolled in an Associate's Degree Nursing Program that prepares them to become a Registered Nurse for a scholarship of up to $8,000 in exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct patient care in an eligible geographic or approved site designation within six months of graduation.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Individual

Must start training program by September 30, 2023, be enrolled in a minimum of 6-semester units, or its equivalent, until program completion, graduate after January 31, 2024, not have an existing service obligation with other entities, including other HCAI programs, not be in breach of any other health professional service obligation, maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater until program completion.

Eligible Geographies:

For a facility to qualify, it must be in an eligible geographic or site designation.
