Purpose:

The purpose of the Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program is to increase the number of appropriately trained allied professionals providing direct patient care in an underserved area or qualified facility within California.

Description:

The Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program is a scholarship where eligible applicants in a non-behavioral health profession may receive a one-time award of up to $15,000 and applicants in an approved behavioral health profession up to $25,000 for one year of their educational program in exchange for a 12-month service obligation and providing direct patient care in a qualified facility in California upon graduating.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

To be eligible for an AHSP award, applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or undergraduate certificate program pursuing an eligible allied healthcare profession and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater, until program completion.  They must start their training program by September 30, 2023, and be enrolled in a minimum of six semester units, or its equivalent, until program completion.

Eligible Geographies:

Applicants must work in a qualifying facility in either an eligible geographic or site designation upon graduating.
