Purpose:
The purpose of the Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship Program is to increase the number of appropriately trained advanced practice professionals providing direct patient care in an underserved area or qualified facility within California.
Description:
The Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship Program is a scholarship where eligible applicants may receive a scholarship of up to $25,000 for one year of their educational program in exchange for a 12-month service obligation and providing direct patient care in a qualified facility in California upon graduating.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible Applicants:
- Individual
To be eligible for an APHSP award, applicants must be enrolled in an eligible program and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater, until program completion. They must start their training program by October 1, 2022, and be enrolled in a minimum of six units, or its equivalent, until program completion.
Eligible Geographies:
Applicants must work in a qualifying facility in either an eligible geographic or site designation upon graduating.
