Purpose:

Support organizations throughout California that serve multiple counties with equity priority factors located in areas at moderate to high risk of disaster. Community-based organizations (CBOs) throughout the State subgrant to a variety of local CBO partners to provide disaster training and resources to diverse populations disproportionately impacted by emergencies. 

Description:

The purpose of the Listos California Statewide Grant (LS) Program is to support organizations throughout California that serve multiple counties with equity priority factors located in areas at moderate to high risk of disaster. Community-based organizations (CBOs) throughout the State subgrant to a variety of local CBO partners to provide disaster training and resources to diverse populations disproportionately impacted by emergencies. This work is intended to increase their communities’ disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation capabilities.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Nonprofit

To be eligible, Applicants must be a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Each Applicant must identify its entire organization’s service area not restricted by jurisdictional boundaries.

Funding Method Notes:

There is approximately $8 million in State General Funds available for the Program. Applicants may apply for up to $1,000,000 and must subaward funds (via Second-Tier Subawards, SRH Section 7.101) to five or more local CBOs within the vulnerable communities they are intending to reach. Each individual Second-Tier Subaward must be a minimum of $75,000.
