Purpose:
The California Energy Commission’s (CEC) Clean Transportation Program announces the availability of up to $30 million in grant funds for projects that will design, construct, and operate publicly available medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) hydrogen refueling and/or charging infrastructure along designated corridors in disadvantaged communities or low-income communities, collectively known as priority populations.
Description:
In order to accelerate actions to mitigate climate change, Governor Newsom signed Executive Order (EO) N-79-20 in September 2020 and set targets for 100 percent of drayage trucks to be zero emission by 2035, and 100 percent of MDHD vehicles to be zero emission by 2045, for all operations where feasible.
Solicitation objectives include:
· Supporting MDHD ZEV hydrogen refueling or charging stations along designated corridors to build out infrastructure for the MDHD ZEV goals set forth in EO N-79-20, the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) and Advanced Clean Fleet (ACF) regulations, and other applicable statewide goals and regulations.
· Supporting a coordinated strategy with other agencies for the MDHD ZEV infrastructure build-out statewide.

This solicitation is open to all public and private entities, California Native American Tribes, and California Tribal Organizations serving California Native American Tribes.
Eligible Geographies:
Ineligible applicants include investor-owned utilities.
Matching Funding Requirement:
Applications must include a minimum 50 percent total match share of the eligible project costs.
