Prevention of Animal Homelessness and Cruelty Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund

Purpose:
The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Prevention Fund Program is supported by California taxpayer contributions and anticipates awarding up to $250,000 on a competitive basis to be distributed to municipal animal control agencies, and eligible society for the prevention of animal cruelty affiliates and humane society affiliates for the sole purpose of spay and neuter activities to eliminate cat and dog homelessness.
Description:
The sole purpose of the Prevention Fund is to support spay and neuter activities to eliminate cat and dog homelessness.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible Applicants:
- Nonprofit
- Public Agency
Eligibility is limited to:
City, county, or city and county animal control agencies or shelters; or,
A society for the prevention of cruelty to animals affiliate or a humane society affiliate that is under contract to provide all animal control services for a local public agency.
Eligible Geographies:
Statewide
