Purpose:
The purpose of the Justice-System Involved Youth Program is to support and encourage underrepresented individuals to pursue health careers to develop a more culturally and linguistically competent healthcare workforce.
Description:
JSIY BH Pipeline is a grant opportunity for organizations to support and encourages underrepresented and disadvantaged individuals to pursue behavioral health careers to develop a more culturally and linguistically competent behavioral healthcare workforce, including providing comprehensive wrap-around supports. These supports include but are not limited to income and rent support, academic enrichment, career development, mentorship, and advising to support currently or recently system-involved students in attaining behavioral health careers.

- Nonprofit
- Public Agency
Depending on the award category, HCAI will accept proposals from the following:
Public and private universities and colleges, Health professions training programs, High schools or school districts proposing to serve high school students, Health professions training programs, Community-based Organizations, Community Health Centers
Eligible Geographies:
The JSIY activities are open to all participants ages 0 through 25, regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity. Program activities should include individuals from historically underrepresented groups and regions and encourage practicing in health professional shortage areas (HPSA).
