Purpose:

The purpose of this solicitation is to announce the availability of up to $7.5 million in grant funds for projects that will implement projects developed and identified in Phase I, Blueprint Development, of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Ready Communities Challenge.

Description:

This is a competitive grant solicitation. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program (formerly known as the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program) announces the availability of up to $7.5 million in grant funds for projects that will implement projects developed and identified in Phase I, Blueprint Development, of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Ready Communities Challenge.

 

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

Only the following entities are eligible to apply: City of Santa Clara Contra Costa Transportation Authority San Francisco Department of the Environment Kern Council of Governments Tierra Resource Consultants (Fresno) City of Sacramento City of Long Beach Harbor Department County of Los Angeles Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance

Eligible Geographies:

State of California

Matching Funding Requirement:

Applications must include a minimum 25 percent total match share. The CEC will provide a maximum of $2,500,000 or 75% of the total project cost, whichever is the less.7

Funding Source Notes:

Assembly Bill (AB) 118 (Nùñez, Chapter 750, Statutes of 2007), created the Clean Transportation Program. The statute authorizes the CEC to develop and deploy alternative and renewable fuels and advanced transportation technologies to help attain the state’s climate change policies. AB 8 (Perea, Chapter 401, Statues of 2013) re-authorized the Clean Transportation Program through January 1, 2024.
