Purpose:

College Corps is a Governor’s Initiative administered by California Volunteers and GO-Serve in partnership with California colleges and universities with a strong commitment to civic and community engagement. Successful applicants will receive state funds and an allotment of College Corps fellow slots to build the next generation of civic leaders, engaging college students from all backgrounds in meaningful paid service.

Description:

In support of addressing California’s critical challenges, College Corps has three primary goals:  

Engage college students in meaningful service opportunities that build leadership skills and civic responsibility.   Help students from diverse backgrounds graduate college on time and with less debt.  Support the work of community-based organizations focused on key local priorities (e.g., K-12 education, food insecurity, climate action).

Institutions of higher education as defined in 2 CFR §200.1 that propose to operate solely within California are eligible to apply. All applicants must have active registration with the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/.

Funds available for FY 2026 are approximately $64,871,000 which will support approximately4,000 450-hour (Quarter Time) service positions (Fellows) annually. California Volunteersanticipates making three-year grant awards.
