Enter the dollar amount awarded to the recipient, as listed on the grant agreement. Think of this as the “grant cost” rather than the “project cost”. Update if changes are made in the grant agreement.

*Matching Funding 

Matching amount from another funding source, if applicable. This may not comprise all additional project funding acquired by grantees.  

If partial or full matching is requested or required by the agreement or voluntarily contributed by the awardee, enter the matched funding dollar amount. If no matched funding is contributed enter “0”. Update if changes are made in the grant agreement.

Expected start and end date of grant activities 

Provide the start and end date per the grant agreement in the respective fields. For grants that are one-time spending opportunities (such as a lump sum payment), the date the grant was awarded serves as both start and end date. If submitting via bulk upload, use MM/DD/YYYY date format. You may need to change your Excel settings to ensure formatting is correct.

Overview of project purpose, priorities, scope, and grant beneficiaries  

Provide a brief outline of the project purpose, priorities, scope, and grant beneficiaries. Beneficiaries include any communities, persons, or entities that benefit from this funding. Update if changes are made in the grant agreement.

The geographic region of the state served by the grant, including the designated local jurisdiction

Counties served by the grant 

If “County” is selected in the Geographic Location Served field: 

Online form: Select all relevant California counties.
Field Type: Checkbox 

Bulk upload: Enter a comma-separated list of all relevant California counties using county name only with no abbreviations or conjunctions (such as “and”). 
Correct: “Orange, Riverside, Sacramento”  
Incorrect: “Shasta County,” “LA,” “Placer and Plumas”
